Series 65 Integrating Ionisation Smoke Detector – 55000-220

Ionisation detectors use a low activity radioactive foil to detect fires by irradiating the air in the smoke chamber and causing a current flow. If smoke enters the chamber, the current flow is reduced leading to an alarm. Circuitry in the Integrating Ionisation Smoke Detector projects against transient levels of smoke above the normal threshold for up to 20 seconds.
